Are you tired? Or just tired of it?
Don’t be in a hurry to blame your age for your weariness at work or with work.
And don’t let others do that on your behalf.
Perhaps you’re just tired of what you’re doing. Perhaps you’re tired of doing it with them!
Let’s face it, things that once were energising can become enervating.
Things that once felt unproblematic can start to feel like a problem.
Things that were always a problem can become a problem we’re no longer interested in trying to resolve.
Things that we previously carried lightly can begin to wear us down.
Especially when we’ve been doing the same thing for quite a while.
Sometimes these feelings creep up on us – we sense them, but we’re afraid to turn and look at them. Sometimes they jump out and shock us when we least expect it, when we thought everything was fine.
In either case, sticking with what you’ve got or stopping altogether aren’t your only choices, even if it sometimes seems that way.
So if it doesn’t feel as if work is delivering what you need it to these days – if it’s feeling more depleting than nourishing; if it makes you weary – then maybe it’s time to stop and look it in the face.
Maybe it’s time to reassess what you need from work, what you want it to deliver. And to explore how that might be achieved.
If you’d like help with that, you can take one small, safe and energising step right now by getting in touch.
